Removing partial measures of slash notation

I recently transferred a Finale File as an XML to Dorico. When I opened it I saw the following:

How do I remove the single measure of the green highlight in the 3/4 measure, or alternately, how do extend the slash notation through the remainder of the 3/4 measure and into the 4/4 measure that follows?

I tried cutting the region, but ended up with this:

I just want a clean measure of empty 3/4, or a slash region extending through the end of the next measure (the ultimate goal)? Why is this such a complicated task in Dorico?

If you start with your first image and select the slash region, you can use Shift+Alt/Opt+arrow to expand/contract the region, or drag the right handle to where you want it.
