"Render in Place" issues in Cubase Pro 14

I do have serious problems with „Render in Place“ within CUBASE Pro 14.

Trying „Render in Place“ on a track with a VSTi results in crackling, distortion and finally in interrupting of the audio signal of the rendered track (I always render the dry track without any plugins and always as a seperate track).

Another issue occures rendering a track of a VSTi with a long decay (e.g. gong, crashcymbal etc) or a longer attack (e.g. timpanis crescendo, cymbals crescendo etc.). Cubase always renders the starting point of the signal but cuts the decay or the attack of the instrument after approx. 1sec, although a 5sec decaytime is given within the RiP-settings.

What is going wrong? Are this known issues? Does anyone else notice those problems?

Hi,

Try to Solo the track before you Render in Place, please.

Thank you for your advice, but soloing the track doesn`t solve the problem.

@virtualsinger probably not relevant for you but my computer gets challenged easily so I’m used to the crackle monster. I find disabling other tracks helps often in these situations, maybe worth a try.

Hi Alexis,
i´ve tried mostly everything in nearly all configurations, but without a satisfying result. I already contacted the Steinberg support, but after 1 month+ delay my enquiry was marked “solved” but without any answer to my questions or advices for solving my problems.

Why would that help anyway? Rendering is an off-line process, which shouldn’t be constrained by the CPU performance limitations.

You’re using a 1st or 3rd party VST? If 3rd party, then which one?

Also, instead of selecting part(s), have you tried making time selection covering the whole tail (decay)?

I´m working with NI-Kontakt 7 mostly, as well as G-Player (for gig-Files) and the Toontrack-stuff (EZ-Keys, EZ-Bass).
The MIDI-file to render is as long as the whole tail + 5 sec.
