While we’re on the topic of render in place
- Cubase renders to blank event if any other than the first Direct output slot is active.
- Why are all solo/mute states deactivated after a Render In Place?
While we’re on the topic of render in place
Where can I vote for this?
For years, I expect to see this “common sense” option added and I purchase Cubase 13 only to find out that I’ll have to rename tracks manually, again. This is especially frustrating because I hide my rendered track…so I have to unhide, copy paste the name, add the (R) manually, and then hide it again.
I looked into the logical editor and it’s not there either.
A simple box that would say "Rendered track gets original track name " could work. I would still use the logical editor to add (R) manually because I do think it’s useful.
You can vote at the top of the post.
Im new to Cubase/Nuendo I can say I wholeheartedly agree this is OBSURD you cannot have the option to name the track automatically. I dont know any daw that does this and and really makes my work take longer, really really silly, especially when I look at all the micro details of other functionalities, to not have a checkbox for this in render settings is completely unprofessional.
This is annoying as it was working fine many months ago.
It’s now getting to the point where I am making larger soundtracks and have to either “freeze” or “render in place” so my PC can handle everything. Now I am regularly rendering, as it is my prefered approach and having to manually enter names. Probably work fine on 13 but has been broken on 12 for a while now.
A quick fix to this really idiotic behavior Steinberg has never fixed it when you Render in place you can highlight ANY 2 tracks and then the track name will match the render in place name you give it. Its still not ideal but its a fix that can usually be done quickly. But Steinberg should fix this
Can I just add my vote to provide us with an option to use the track name when using render in place? It’s a massive waste of time and like many I’m sure has been something I’ve hoped would be fixed for many many years. I render everything as I like to be able to edit and process audio and also so that it will all be there in years to come or if I open it on another machine. Manually renaming the newly created audio tracks takes up so much time. Please, please fix this.
I am also frustrated with the Rendered tracks names “Stereo Out”- Is there any possibility to capture the name of the current track and rename the Rendered track as something like “ (R)” rather than Stereo Out using Project Logical Editor? I have tried but havent found any luck. My ideal scenario would be to add that to the key command in my streamdeck so that Rendering and Renaming is done with the click of a single button.

I have wanted the track name to copy either the “region name” or the name “custom name” since bounce in place first appeared.

This would be very helpful on large projects where lot of MIDI tracks needs to be rendered to Audio.
this is absolutely stupid and whomever “Designed” it doesnt make music for a living
