As a feature request please could Steinberg add functionality to the render in place dialog for the user to select which audio outputs of an instrument to render? If, for example, you take the case of a VEPro instrument with 16 stereo returns you get 15 unwanted tracks of blank stereo audio every time, when the purpose of the render was to render only the audio of exactly what was coming out of a single output, at the same level and with the same routing.
I appreciate that this has been asked time and again for a decade, but all I’ve seen is workarounds involving disabling returns, soloing tracks, rendering the entire signal path etc.
For example, in this simple test all I wanted was the test trumpet:
