Once you’ve rendered a midi track in place; is it possible to undo it and revert to the original track?

It depends on how you rendered it. By default the original track should be there but muted and a new track will be created for the render. If you chose to remove the original track after rendering it will be gone. Then it is gone! Could be you have chosen to hide it. Than you can ofcourse make it visible and active again.
