Why is it when I load plugins in effect slot and then use the “render in place” option it still stays active?
If I want it to be active all the time I would not use render in place option just leave it.
Or have I missed some option?

I don’t see what you mean.
Use render in place in plug-in.
It’s a way to commit to your edit you do.
Say it’s an eq. When I play song after render in place I get that eq twice.
If I use your option with bypass master and want to use another plug-in it’s alot of clicks to enable master, get rid of eq. Put new plug-in…
I would recommend using the Solo or Mute Plugin options. Like this, you can have various plugins loaded, and only one can be active at a time, or even none.
That is, you solo the plugin, apply the render, then mute the plugin, etc.
