RENDER - initial space before the first clip is lost

I’m working on a project in WaveLab with multiple tracks, each containing several audio clips. When I try to render/export each track separately, I want each track to start at its first clip, but also maintain the space before the first clip on each track.

The issue is that when I perform the export, WaveLab starts the export at the beginning of the first clip, which means the initial space before the first clip is lost. After that, the timing and spacing between the clips are preserved correctly.

How can I ensure that WaveLab includes the initial space before the first clip in the export of each track, so the track starts where it should, with the proper timing intact?

Thanks for helping me

What you reported is actually an old design decision that is not optimal. I believe this should be changed in the future.
That being said, it is possible to achieve what you want, but not by using the “Selected Track” option.

Using WaveLab 12:
You have to use the render option “Selected Audio Range.”
You need to select the range you want, from the beginning of the track to the last clip, and select only that range.
Then render.

To facilitate the selection, you could place a marker at the very beginning and another at the very end, then double-click between them to select the range. However, this method is only possible if you don’t have other markers in the montage.

Another workaround I tried is to place a short clip (can be as short as just 1 sample) at the beginning of the montage and set its Volume Envelope to -∞ dB (or just have a clip with -∞ dB to begin with), mind that a muted clip will not work. Then just render with Active Track as source selected.
This way you can also extend the rendered track past the last clip, if needed.
