Rendered audio is double transposed

When using a global transpose track, rendered audio is transposed again (ie if transpose track is set to +3, audio rendered will be transposed again so +6)

For example:

    1. Create empty project
    • Add an audio track with any audio
      1. Add a transpose track and set to anything other than 0
      2. render the audio track
      3. rendered audio track is then transposed again by the transpose track

Recommended fix : default rendered audio tracks to ‘independent’ if the transpose track is enabled during rendering.

Mac OS 26, Cubase version 15.0.30

Hi,

this is no bug, it’s just a little misunderstanding.

After you have rendered the audio event it shows up an a newly created audio track. This newly rendered audio event will also be set to “follow” in the global transpose field (you can check it in the info line on top of the project window, make sure that it’s visible). Therefore, this rendered audio event which has already been transposed will be transposed a second time during playback unless you change the audio event’s global transpose entry to “independent”.

Hey Reco29,

I do understand I can manually go through, after everything is rendered, and then ‘untranspose’ the item I just carefully put in the right key - my suggestion here is that the default behaviour could be tweaked to provide a more useful user experience. It is not a ‘bug’ - but would constitute a workflow improvement.

Hi,

you have edited your initial post in a way that it looks like you knew the solution all along (you didn’t). This renders my reply/explanation as irrelevant.

Please, make sure to indicate edited parts of your post next time. This helps others to understand the initial problem and how to adress it.

Thanks

Hi - the original post has been edited by a mod to remove the word “issue” from the subject. That’s it. The description has not changed.
