Rendered files - importing into Pro Tools as split mono tracks

I know there is an issue when exporting audio out of Cubase that if “Insert iXML Chunk” is selected, Pro Tools will import stereo files as split mono files.

I’m trying a new workflow that involves render-in-place instead of export and am experiencing the same issue. I don’t see a way to adjust any settings about the wave file - am I missing something? Is there a way to render-in-place and have them import into PT correctly?
