Yes, I got that. What I was trying to say is that there are “no” options for my audio track input besides the inputs on my interface. I seeing the problem being what Ron is pointing to. I have to create custom busses for the track to offer me in the input selection. That’s my next study when I get some down time in the studio.
The video shows using outputs instead of group tracks, but its essentially the same thing.
When Steinberg first introduced free routing in one of the C4 updates, this ability was not available on the Studio Version. It was supposedly added later however and I’m fairly certain that other studio owners have done this. Unfortunately I only have the full version so I can’t verify.
I just tried the above steps on the full version to make sure I wasn’t forgetting anything.
I loaded BFD2 with 1 mono and 1 stereo output.
I created two audio tracks (1 mono, 1 stereo)
I created 2 group tracks (one mono and one stereo).
I mapped the VST outputs to the appropriate groups.
I set the output of the group tracks to “no bus”.
I then set the inputs to the audio tracks (they show up under “groups->”)
I did notice that the stereo audio inputs will accept both mono and stereo group tracks, but the mono audio input only shows the mono group track.
