Rendering Single Clip From Montage With Fades

When you render a single clip from a Montage, you have the checkbox option to Fade In/Fade Out.

  1. Fade In/Out from exactly -where-? The marker boundary or the edge of the clip? It doesn’t seem to be working for me. The audio just seems to be chopped at the edge somehow. (Not sure -where-).

  2. Which begs the question: Is it possible to change the slope of the fade? If so, how?

TIA,

I’ll have to test later on a test tone which you can too but my educated guess right now is that the fade in/out is whatever the render source is. If you are rendering CD tracks, the fade would happen at the start of the region boundaries (CD Tracks) regardless of where the actual audio clips start/end.

Rendering As Clips would of course render just the clips and that’s where the fade in/out is applied.

As for the fade times, the pop-up box for this setting tells you that the fade times and shapes are set in the “Audio file editing preferences” dialogue.

See the attachment of the pop-up.

The Fade in/out render option finds its settings there:
