I added a player and assigned it to Glockenspiel after which it moved to its right position in the score. However, in Play mode the Glockenspiel VST is still at the bottom of the list. I can’t find a way to place it according to the score order.
Do you mean in the mixer window?
The order of the instruments in the mixer window depends on the order of the VST instruments and the assigned MIDI channel.
No, I mean like this. Apart from that I’ve changed the instrument from Glockenspiel to Celesta.
I don’t want the Celesta to be beneath the Double bass. I want it to be at the same position as in the score, in this case between the Trumpets and the 1st Violins. But now that you mention the assigned MIDI channels I can see why they go where they go, to the next available MIDI channel. So maybe it’s not possible to do what I’m asking for.

One needs to assign a Playback Template. Then they will move according to the score order.
