I’ve been trying to make this form playback correctly but no matter what I do it wont play 1 time and jump to coda, instead skips first time and jump to 2 and ends with coda?
Does anyone have a sugestion?
Or copy the 1st ending as part of the coda and move the “to coda” before the first ending. (Leave the play repeats unchecked).
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, yes also tryed “Engrave Times played for” , it will only wright 1,2 not 1,3
Thanks Jaskarbog, it will play til 1 and jump to coda but I don’t want that. I want it to play 1 time again after D.C al Coda and then jump to Coda. I think I read somwhere in the manuale I have to wright under “Engrave Times played for” but it will only wright 1,2 not 1,3 ?
Select the first repeat ending bracket in engrave mode and set the following properties:
- No. times played to 3
- Times played for segment to 1,3
Thanks Johnkprice,
I finally managed to make the repeat endings the way you suggested and it works but only if I move the
“To coda” one beat to the left. Now the last measure only have three beats and jumps to coda which is not the intention, is there something I can do with the placement of the coda?.
I really don’t understand the problem… this works correctly, with no messing around, so long as the Playback Options>Repeats is set…
rpt.dorico (1.2 MB)
If you have to move the To Coda marker to the left, then you are apparently using a version of Dorico prior to 6.2.30, for which the Version History says
If a repeat jump coincides with an end repeat barline, the repeat jump now correctly takes precedence.
Note that you don’t have to move the To Coda marker a whole beat to the left. Instead, you can move that marker back so it is anchored at the start of the second ending, change the rhythmic grid resolution to a 32nd note, select that marker and press Alt/Opt-Left Arrow. Then the first ending is only shortened by the duration of a 32nd note after the D.C. al Coda before jumping to the Coda.
Thanks Johnkprice,
I am on Dorico 5 so if that’s the problem I guess I will have to upgrade according to what I can understand from your response. I can of course move to Coda so it’s a 32 beat before the jump and it works but it still not the right thing to do I think, especially if you export the midi to another DAW. Thank you so much I will try to upgrade and see if it helps and if you are in the US Happy fourth of July.
Thanks Janus
I think I had to upgrade according Johnkprice to see post above
Upgrading to Darko 6.1 seems to have fixed the issue, I wish Dorico would have made it a little more simple, so we not don’t have to adjust the bottom Parmeters “Repeat Endings” I used quite some time Playing around these ones before Johnkprice posted the answer,
“. No.times played to 3
. Times played for segment to 1,3” .
Dorico 5 didn’t want to take 1,3 but keept automatic writing 1,2 .
Things seems to play back correctly now in dorico 6.1 so,
Thanks to all for your response and have a great summer.
