Hello, is there a way to make the repeat barlines be based on the brackets/braces instead of the barline joints, or at least independent of it. Another maybe option is if I can change the barline joint in a bar by bar basis. I know that this is a niche question but I’m trying to emulate this specific engraving style.
I’m not sure if I understand you correctly, but if you want winged repeat barlines, go to Engraving options>Barlines>Repeats and set that to Show wings. If you want the wings to be closer to the staff lines like in your example, set a negative value for Additional vertical protrusion beyond top or bottom of staff. If that’s not what you meant let me know.
Sorry, it’s more so that I want to have the repeat barlines to be independent of the actual barline groupings and group the same way as the brace. From what I can do (in my limited knowledge) for example in the brass section: I can only do either one big repeat barline covering horn 1 - trombone 2 with the barlines also running through all 6 players or have three separate repeat barlines for each brace grouping, but also have three separate barlines running through only the horns, trumpets, or trombones.
Ah, I see. I don’t know if that’s possible without some serious manual labour. There is no setting for this in Engraving or Notation options that I’m aware of. There is the Change Barline Joins button in the Bracketing panel in Engrave mode, but that will also join the repeat barlines.
But you’d have to create those individually for every bar (unless there is a way to create multiple coordination lines at once that I’m unaware of). If you have double barlines anywhere, you’d also have to create a custom double vertical line style before you can apply it to the coordination line. It’s not a task I’d be looking forward to, but if you want to give it a try the steps to input coordination lines can be found here.
Perhaps others will have a workable solution but I’m afraid I’m out of ideas.
Oooh! Thank you, I think that might just work. since the change barline joins can be page by page basis, it’s not that tedious. I’ve tried that solution just now and happy to say that it works fine. Thanks again Zalde
