I can place the Segno, but there is no standard way to place the Coda sign as far as I could see, therefore I made a Playing Technique with this sign as glyph, so now I can place also the Coda sign.
(Edit: I found out that you can place the Coda sign with custom text, so I changed the To Coda into a space, then remains only the sign).
But how can I enter a text string with these two glyphs in it like in the above example?
I thought that Dorico was largely based on Gould, but it seems this was left out…
Undoubtedly, I found those codes also when I entered the glyphs in the playing techniques, but I do not know how to enter them in the text !
On windows it used to be Alt and the a numeric code (copyright sign = Alt 0169), but that was for, I think, unicode or even before that maybe…
Copy/paste the symbols, if that seems easiest, but be sure to set the font for those symbols to Bravura Text or the style for those symbols to Music Text, since they probably do not exist in Academico or other text fonts.
I’ll be honest, I’m used to seeing text only with this.
in order…
The actual segno
then at some point in the music the words “D.S. al Coda”
then later the words “To Coda”
then later the actual Coda sign
That’s what I typically see in concert band pieces.
Check in Library > Engraving Options > Repeat Markers for various options that control how different repeat markers appear, including showing just “Coda” text, just the symbol, or both.
