I’m transcribing a couple of pieces for band, and it occurs quite often that most of the players have a repeated section (e. g. a verse of a song) where they play the same stuff, and/or the singer sings one verse after the other - so they get a repeated section (and possibly several lyric lines). However, the brass section plays different music in each section, so they need a section A1, A2, A3 instead.
One example would be “These Boots are Made for Walking” (Nancy Sinatra) – first verse is vocals only, second verse has long brass chords, third verse has rhythmic brass stabs. Another example is “Don’t Change Horses” by Tower of Power. Is there an elegant way to achieve this in Dorico?
