I created a repeat in the score Editor, but Cubase 14 is not recognizing the repeat signs. It only plays straight forward.
Where can I define to jump to the repeat signs and play that, what I have entered in the score editor?
This is not currently supported, but is on our list to look at in the future.
In earlier versions repeats were connected to the Arranger track. You can still do this manually:
Hi,
it would be really smart if Cubase playback used the repeat and jump markers in the music sheet. But of course only optionally, not automatically. That’s been a long-held dream of mine.
Even the C13 editor doesn’t have this functionality (I think).
@PaulWalmsley :
I didn’t know about the repeats via arranger track.
Are the repeats in the score editor created in the arranger track?
I’ll have to try it out.
best regards
I haven’t investigated in any detail, but I seem to recall that there was a connection between repeats and the arranger track in C13
EDIT: Steinberg
The arranger track is not a solution.
You would have an arranger track for any MIDI track in the project!
For example a parallel audio track may not be affected.
That shows the nature of the problem: the Cubase score editor is ‘just’ a representation of the data in a MIDI track. If you add repeats and you want them to play back, then that breaks the connection between the linear timeline of the MIDI track and the score representation. The Arranger track is one way of fixing that by allowing the sequencer timeline to jump around to match the score.
