It would be great if I could replace fabfilter pro q 2 with fabfilter pro q3, but instead I have to remove the old insert and redo everything. Is there any way to replace an older version of an insert with a new one in Cubase 13 pro?

This is on the plug-in developer’s side. Cubase recognise the plug-in by unique ID.
If a new version of the plug-in shares the same ID add the old one, it’s the same plug-in from Cubase point of view. So Cubase will replace the old plug-in instances by the new one.
If the ID changes, it’s completely new plug-in for Cubase. It cannot be linked with the old one.
