Replaced SSD and now Cubase 12 pro reports no license found

I have had Cubase for a long time with relatively few problems. As my existing SSD was getting full, I deleted many files from the download folder (Windows 10) and then ran Samsung Data migration tool to transfer everything onto the new SSD. Cubase now fails with the message “no license found” . The download manager correctly lists Cubase 12 pro and it shows it as installed. Activation manager has the message “no licence found”. I guess I could re-install cubase but knowing my luck it will still be the same. I have got a working copy on my laptop so perhaps I can copy some files from there? Any ideas?

Hi,

In this case I would rather reinstall Steinberg Activation Manager.

Thanks Martin. I tried removing and re-installing activation manager but that didnt do anything. I discovered that there is a maximum limit of 3 computer installations… This was because I never de activated the old references on either previous pc’s or perhaps previous hard drives. I deactivated two instances and cubase started working again - I didn’t have to touch the activation manager.
