I’d like to move the instrument change label “Alice” slightly to the left. However, when I adjust its position, the multirest is split. Is there a way to reposition the label without affecting the multirest?
Move it in engrave mode.
I should have mentioned that the issue I’m having is in Engrave mode…
Ideally, I’d like the instrument change label to sit just to the left of the dynamic, both to be consistent with its placement elsewhere in the score and to avoid encroaching too much on the space beneath the flow title. However, as the screenshot below shows, moving the label as close to the dynamic as possible causes the multirest to split.
I know you said you were in Engrave mode, but that does look like Write mode – the attachment point for the label has moved.

I’m going to blame my latest moment of stupidity on the heatwave that’s currently sending the south of the UK to record-breaking temperatures for this time of year!
