[Request] Convert rhythms according to time signature and subdivisions

Dear all,

How to set the default appearance of dotted quaver after semiquaver rest to semiquaver with tied quaver?

I think this is probably a duplicate question. I may have asked it before, but I cannot find it.

Is there a way to automatically notate a dotted quaver after a semiquaver rest as a semiquaver with a bound quaver?

To get the following result, I always insert a semiquaver and apply ‘Force Duration’, then insert a quaver and join the notes.

After applying ‘Reset Appearance’ and ‘Reset Position’, all the notations I did manually as the second examples are converted to as the first examples.

So I think there should be an option for this. I think I knew about it before, but cannot remember.

Sorry for the inconvenience…

There is not an option for this level of subdivision. You’ll have to force duration.

Thank you!

I am asking for an option for this. I hope the developers feel the need for this.

It would be very useful if Dorico could automatically divide and tie notes to the rhythmic positions where the dynamics are. I spend a lot of time doing this manually with force duration.

A split function would be nice, where you can split notes (or rests) into tied notes at the carot position.

Or have a global option not only to split middle of the bar but split rhythmic positions two level above smallest note duration in a bar — if there are 16ths - split notes that cross each quarter postition, if there are eights - split those which cross half-notes etc.
