Request: Quantize (grid) option ''Click pattern''

For the grid there already are options:
Bar
Grid
Use Quantize
Adapt to zoom

I would love to be able to get the grid look exactly the same as ‘‘Click pattern’’. If I make 7/8 bar, but add 4-click click pattern, it works amazing, but there is no way to quantize to those 4 clicks in 7/8 bar.
So I would love to see option ‘‘Use Click pattern’’ under quantize, and have it work with ‘‘Use Quantize’’ for grid.

Hope for Cubase 13

Are you using “Use Metronome Click Pattern Level for Grid Line Emphasis”?

Yes I am using “Use Metronome Click Pattern Level for Grid Line Emphasis”.

It works only if the click count matches numerator of the time signature.
For example 7/8 and I have 7 clicks for metronome.
If I have 7/8 and 4 clicks for metronome, it does not work.

My current workaround would be:

  1. make 4/4 bar
  2. have 7 tuplet in quantize
  3. set grid to use quantize
  4. get 7 click metronome pattern
  5. calculate new tempo for that bar current tempo/7*8=new tempo

But than it’s hard to see what I did a week ago and to try new stuff.

This is so much better! Thank you so much for the effort making the video! :+1:

No problem!

But this could follow the click pattern regardless of number of clicks, I agree.

Now I am happy

Is there a way to transfer these presets to another user profile?

Never mind. Found it in RAMPresets.xml.

Hi,

Do you know you can drag and drop A MIDI Part or an Audio Event to the Quantize Panel to get the grid?

Yes. It was already mentioned. That’s how I made the list.
I still think, that if “Use Metronome Click Pattern Level for Grid Line Emphasis” is enabled, the grid should adapt to click count of the metronome click pattern.
But that rises questions about quantize than. So easier for user would be to make quantize option ‘‘Click pattern’’. But I get that it would be really hard task from programing standpoint.

Is that on Cubase 12?

Cheers!
