I have a score here coming from an xml-input.
Some text items have wrong settings now (too small etc.).
(I’m speaking of the plain Shift-x text).
How can I reset all text to the current default settings?

I’m not an expert in XML imports but you might want to try unchecking the Import font style information checkbox in Preferences>MusicXML and then importing the file again:
That should lead to text items having your own Default paragraph style.
If reimporting is not an option, you could check Library>Paragraph styles. From the import, you might find paragraph styles like these:

AFAIK you can’t delete a paragraph style that is in use in the document and replace that, but in my limited experience those imported paragraph styles usually have the Default paragraph style as a parent. So selecting them and then deactivating all override toggles will align all settings with the Default. Others might have better solutions though.
Thanks. Unfortunately re-import is no option as there is to much work done so far.
In Sibelius there is a funktion “reset text settings”. Is there something like this in Dorico?
Did you try to select all->Edit->Filter for text->Edit->Reset Appearance?

Good call! But that will just reset the text item to its assigned paragraph style, so that won’t work if a new style was created on import. It would be nice to have some way of deleting a paragraph style that is being used and replacing that with another one.
Then change the paragraph style first to match the default one, no?
Jesper
Yes, but I assumed OP would not want to do that for every individual text item.
You mean they each have a different style? If so, bummer.
Jesper
On the import I tried there were only two text items and both had an individual paragraph style created on import (see the screenshot in my first reply). Hence my suggestion to turn off the override toggles for those.
OK.

Great, that’s new to me too.
Jesper
Excellent. Works. Thanks
