Respacing measures/layout

95% of Dorico’s default layouts look fantastic to me. But in this case, Dorico decided to allow just 1 measure per system, for 2 measures straight, which is a LOT of paper and extra white space.

I don’t know why it did this. I do see there’s triplet figures that need proper spacing. However, on other pages of this same file, it gets 2 measures into 1 system with very similar content, so I can’t tell what made it decide to only put 1 measure per system here.

Any suggestions for what settings I should look to adjust in order to force 2 measures into 1 system in this section of the music?

(Note: I don’t want to change the Rastral Size, which I’m happy with.)

You could try your luck with a note spacing change.

Mmmm… It seems to me that the problem must be coming from somewhere else, because the systems and the page percentages are very low.

Could there be a system break (and/or frame break) that has been applied incorrectly somewhere? (ask to display the signposts)

The system fullness indicators for those two systems each read a little over 50%. That suggests that Dorico couldn’t put both bars on one system without the fullness going over 100%.

A note spacing change might help, as @TonH suggests. Otherwise, if you want to force things, you can select something in the first measure, Ctrl/Cmd+click something in the second measure, and then use the Make Into System button.
