Respelling of double sharp to the original note

Hi,
i’m working on a Messiaen piece as an tutorial for me into Dorico
and i want to respell and F-double sharp intop a g natural - how to?

See here:

Thanks Lillie,
All my voice 1 stems are downwards, and I want them to be upwards
how to do that macro?

Just to clarify
Is it possible to program Dorico to an non major/minor scale
modality or in this example Messiaen modus

The stem directions take effect only where there is another voice on the staff.

For one of Messiæn’s modes I suppose you could use a custom key signature, at least while entering the notes. But I would not print his music differently than how he wrote it.

agree,
but I can’t find 6 sharps in the Key signature category
it allows only for 6 flats (Gb-flat major/minor) I altered it with the arrow key below keysignature in the right hand window

I’ve entered a voice 2 - thus having two voices like the original score
ANIMA-LE BANQUET CELESTE.dorico (839.3 KB)
Notice page 2and 3 where I havent corrected the stems manually yet

For F♯ major you can use the ShiftK popover and enter F# (capital F).
But you certainly should be able to get up to 7 ♯ and ♭ in the panel too.

I have two suggestions for the project you posted:

For keyboard music it is safe to remove unneeded rests in extra voices, such as in bars 2, 4, 6, etc. Simply select a passage and do Edit > Remove Rests. (The notes are unaffected.)

You should not need to flip stems manually. Starting in bar 7, you have created a third voice (Down-stem Voice 2) in the left hand staff. This is unnecessary, and makes editing more confusing. To fix this you can select everything from bar 7 to the end in that staff, and simply press V twice. This rotates the voices of the notes so that they end up in the proper voices.

Just type “6s” into the Key signature popover. Or… whatever the tonic is.
