Without multi-bar rest, all rests is fine. One solution I’ve found is entering hidden note in voice 1, shown rest in voice 2, which doesn’t seem great…

This is indeed what Dorico does when multi-bar rests are enabled, and I agree it’s not ideal. It’s something we plan to review in future.

Can you say more about the conditions that produce this? I see it in the attached file, but I can’t make it happen in a new file. It seems to be only in the score, right?

If you move the text a step to the left with alt/opt left arrow, it works.

Unchecking “automatically cut staves away in empty bars” is another solution.
