I thought opening a factory template and working on it wouldn’t change the template itself, but it looks like I was wrong. How do I restore a template to its original condition?
What aspect are you referring to, page templates?
Each new project starts again with factory default templates (provided you’re not using a project template as a starting point, which has alternative settings saved as part of it).
Okay, thanks. Is there a way, once having opened a factory template, to its original defaults without affecting anything but that one project itself?
Again, which defaults are you referring to?
Generally, the answer is yes: you can use the Library Manager to reset various areas to factory defaults by bringing across those defaults back into the current project.
These changes always only affect the current project. When you save a set of options as defaults, they update your user library, but won’t override the factory default “set”.
The factory defaults, to start fresh, but just for the current project, rather than resetting to factory defaults on a global basis.
@MusiComPublishing as @Lillie_Harris said: you can use the Library Manager (you find it in menu Library) to do that in just a couple of clicks for a current project. It is a really powerful tool, to make every kind of comparison and mergin of options between projects and also a “factory reset” as you wish.
