Retrologue/2 Arp "Mode Sections" Question

Under “Mode Sections”

Is the text describing Up/Down and Down/Up modes erroneous? The exact same text is used for each mode with addition of the dependent “key mode” setting. I guess I’m not getting how “Key Mode” is used, but the manual has no examples and I can’t find any good videos are articles on this.

Can someone explain the difference using a simple musical example, like a root position C Major 7 chord?

See: Main Section

If Up/Down 1 is selected, the notes are arpeggiated first in ascending, then in descending order.

If Up/Down 2 is selected, the notes are arpeggiated first in ascending, then in descending order. This mode depends on the set Key Mode.

If Down/Up 1 is selected, the notes are arpeggiated first in descending, then in ascending order.

If Down/Up 2 is selected, the notes are arpeggiated first in descending, then in ascending order. This mode depends on the set Key Mode.

Thanks.
