I want to modify the sound of a Retrologue instrument as I am playing, i.e. moving the dial to the left of the keyboard for slight modulations.
How can i keep track of the modulations while recording instead of simply listening to the track in the sound the dial is positioned while it is playing?
How are you playing it? If you use external controller then it’s mod wheel controls the vst mod wheel and is recordable.
If you don’t have a mod wheel on your controller you would have to turn automation to write mode and move the vst wheel with your mouse while playing the controller with your other hand…far from ideal.
In that case I would probably play and record the part without first and run the automation record as a second take.
