Reverb plugin

Hello,

Is it posible to use a third party reverb plugin, say like ValhallaPlate?

Thank you

It should be, I believe — but you might have to whistlist it first, if it’s not showing up in the menus. I’m not sure whether the pinned topics were updated already to reflect the new, easier whitelisting procedure, but I’ve seen it floating around in the forums.

It’s possible to load any VST3 plug-in. Any VST3 plug-in the audio engine finds will get listed automatically in the plug-in lists in Dorico.
VST2 plug-ins are different though. They are based on an older standard and a badly programmed plug can make your system unstable. That’s why we decided to not officially support VST2 anymore, or only those VST2 plugs, that we know will work.
But we left open the possibility for users to whitelist their favourite VST2s.

Create a vst2whitelist.txt at following location.

Win: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\VSTAudioEngine_64
Mac: /Users//Library/Preferences/VSTAudioEngine

Enter on a separate line the name of the plug-in without extension.
Restart Dorico and it shall recognize your plug.

Let me know if you run into trouble.

Thank you Ulf, I will try.
