Currently from what I can see. Other that a little slightly complex method there is no way to do this what I thought would be easy issue.
Currently in Ableton you can highlight the automation with the range tool. And then using the option modifier key and using the edge to drag allows you to mirror the automation.
This feels like a must have. Was honestly very surprised when I found out as I always thought Cubase was a leader when It comes to automation flexibility.
Agreed. For instance, right now I’m using automation to mute a group of ambient tracks in a Cubase mix. Another set of tracks have a send to a reverb track. I want all these tracks to automate similarly.
But the waveform for group mute automation and the waveform for fx send automation are exactly out of phase.
So if I copy the automation from one automation lane to the other then the automation performs exactly opposite or 180 degrees out of phase.
So some automation controls like INVERT etc would be useful here
A workaround could be to place a group channel in the path of the send buss --then the copied automation would be in phase … but it would be simpler with an invert function
+1
I would like to see reverse, mirror AND invert automation functions.
I was really hoping to see this in Nuendo 14, but guess what?
Still not available… I mean, it’s 2025, version 14 ??? I tried again with the Project Logic Editor but nope. We are so close with the "Scale Around Absolute Center” function but it stops dead at zero instead of flipping into negative territory. Has anyone found a turnaround for this?
