Maybe a long shot but: I have written bars 1 to 8 and now wish to make bar 8 bar 1, bar 7 bar 2 etc is there a simple way to do this without copying and pasting to new bars?

That won’t do exactly what you want in all circumstances! It will reverse all the notes, not merely the bars.
If the music is symmetrical inside each bar you’ll be OK.
Yes, that’s why I first deleted my post. Maybe rotate can work.
