Rhythm Dot space choice

Do we have any option for choosing what space rhythm dots should end up into?
In this case, I would like the second beat’s lower voice dots to be in spaces 3 and 4, not 2 and 3.

We do not.

I have been asking for this option since Sibelius days over 20 years ago.

Clarification …

You want the dots on the B and the D♯ to be in the spaces above, rather than below. I believe this is an editorial preference the programming team adopted from Oxford University Press. I have always disagreed, and I very much prefer what you are asking for. It is what I have always seen in all German engravings and most others.

I agree that there should be an option, or a vertical property.

But surely the dot on the A would always stay in space 2, with the notehead?

The choice is usually only an issue for noteheads on a line.

Yes, only for the D# then. Thanks for adding precision to this.

It seems the “rule” appears to be that noteheads on the line have their dots the side of line towards which the stem direction is for optimum visibility.

Here is a workaround to move the dot on the D# above the staff line. Start by entering the notes as shown in the first measure below. The second down-stem chord is inside a 2:3e tuplet:

Remove the rest and hide the tuplet number and non-bracketed accidental. Select the up-stem chord in engrave mode, hide its stem and set its voice column index to zero to obtain the appearance in the second measure.

Thank you John!
