Rhythm slashes in the middle of a beat

Hi!
How would you go about doing this?

I want to write out a solo underneath the slashes for playback and have the last snare and tom showing. I don’t want the kick drum showing but I want it in the playback. Is there a way to show an eighth rest but have the kick play back?
If not, there is always the possibility to do the audio demo and visual score seperately…

I was able to make this work (if I understood you correctly) by hiding the BD eighth note in Engrave Mode.

EDIT: I did have to break the beam connecting the on-beat BD and off-beat snare.

Although, I’m thinking about that eight note rest still…this is perhaps more of an engraving question, but I think I would like to see the third beat. Maybe as an eighth rest…

So the drummer is required to play the snare and the tom , but the bass drum is optional?
A rest wouldn’t be appropriate in my opinion, since you do not prescribe a rest there!
I’d change that BD note head into a slash, but keep it beamed to the snare. his way, the drummer knows he’s not required to play anything specific on the 3 beat, but is required to play the snare and tom after that!
The way to do that, is to add a perc. playing technique to the bass drum in percussion kit edit mode, assign pretty much any Playback technique and, most importantly, assign a slash notehead set to this extra technique. Then you can cycle to that slash in write mode!

P.S.: Just figured out that you can also have a slashed bass drum in the middle of the staff, but so far, no playback… Maybe you can find a solution…
