Rhythmic cues in slash region

Hi! I’d like to add rhythmic cues for the rhythm section, indicating the rhythm the backgrounds are playing. How can I do that without interrupting the slash regions?

Normal rhythmic cues should work if you have this set on the slash regions.

This is great, thanks! Now I’d like to not show the other voices, but only the cues. Of course I can remove the written bass part after I exported the audio, and before I make pdfs, but I’d rather not do that. But anyway, thank you for this, I’ve been looking for this for ages (I even made a topic about it, recently).

Ow and: can I change the cue text? Now it says: trp 2, but I’d like ‘brass’ or ‘horns’ and, if possible, only the rhythm, not the melody.

On the bass, you can right-click->Staff->Add extra staff above. Copy the bass part to the new upper staff. Finally, right-click->Staff->Remove staff on the upper staff. The bass will still play, even with the staff removed.

Yes, look for start text for the cue in the properties panel.

Thanks! That’s also very helpful. Now I just need to learn to make rhythmic cues, but I thonk I know how: just manually make them and show them as pointed out above

Select a region of the drum part, shift-U, type the name of the brass instrument. Then, with the cue selected, tick rhythmic cue and change the start text in the properties panel.

Jesper

Yeahhhh! Thanks!!!

You might want slashes also.

As a matter of fact, yes! I like this even better, thanks!
