Does anyone know an easy way to change a quarter triplet to an eighth-quarter-eighth group and vice versa without deleting the notes?

Welcome to the forum, Josef. You can’t do it in one step, but this will work:

  1. Engage Insert mode by hitting I.
  2. Select the tuplet bracket above the existing triplet quarters and hit Delete.
  3. Select the three quarters and hit 5 to make them into eighths.
  4. Hit I to disengage insert mode again.
  5. Type ; to open the tuplets popover; it should be populated with “3:2” already, so just hit Return.

I think this will be a case for a ScriptPlugIn.
I’ll try that later.
