Hi All
Apologies if this has been discussed, but I did something weird and now all the righthand close parenthesis signs are gone from all my chord alterations…I was trying to make a “C5” for example, instead of “C omit3” etc etc which I find cumbersome. But now I’ve screwed something up.

Did you know there’s a default setting for this, that applies to all open 5th chords in the project, in either:
- Dorico Pro: Library > Engraving Options > Chord Symbols > Intervals
- Dorico Elements: Library > Chord Symbols > Intervals
Set once, no manual intervention required
you may need to reset edited components in this project, though. If I recall, Dorico can’t show parentheses on edited components.
Oh Hi Lillie! Long time.
OK thank you, I have no clue how I missed that open 5th setting. And, I was even looking for it…hmmm.
OK great but I still don’t understand how to reset the edited components to get the righthand parenthesis back… I don’t want to click Reset to Default because I spent a lot of time getting my alterations to be how I want them, etc…
And another problem, Now if I type "Gb5add6 I get this weird thing…

Somehow I think this gigantic “5” is from me trying to manually create a “C5” in the editing.
You can edit the default appearance of just parts of your chord symbols via Library > Chord Symbols. You’ll need to have a careful look at the settings you’ve got in there.
