Right ive made some headway on this , this isn’t a fix this is a work around .
Open the device panel ,open the control panel , change the buffer to desired buffer , click ok ,go back to device panel and tick or untick DM .
It doesn’t matter what state direct monitoring is in ( on/off) but just clicking the button brings the faders back to their original position so as long as I remember to tick or untick DM after adjusting the asio all is good . STRANGE .
This is not an automap issue , I uninstalled automap ,cleaned the registry and the problem still persisted but what im finding very strange is that no one else is having this issue with a fireface .
Another thing that was suggested to me on the Rme forum was Devices > control panel and "set device attenuation " BUT with this control panel version there is no such setting which is bizarre .
Anyway at least for now ive found a work around that allows me to actually work .
