Roland Octa-capture does not show in Cubase 13 ASIO audio system

The Octa-Capture normall does an automatic install of the USB driver. I also tried a manual install of the windows 10 driver and it says installation is successful, but it still is not available in the audio system ASIO window to select. I have used Octa Capture successfully for many years on windows 10. it is still working on my laptop. But this is now a clean install of windows on my workstation and it does not show. any ideas?

Are you sure that you have installed the ASIO driver for the Octa-Capture? Because those don’t install themselves “automatically”, the automatic install is usually just the standard windows USB audio drivers, which do not appear in Cubase.

You need to download and install this one here:

Pretty much all audio interfaces made by Roland during the time they had ownership of Cakewalk used WASAPI primarily and while Sonar can work with ASIO, it has weird quirks when using it so you’d only add the ASIO drivers when using other audio software. Steinberg, being the inventors of ASIO, use it almost exclusively for their software even shipping a generic one in case your audio devices lack dedicated drivers.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I downloaded the driver from that Roland site and followed the special conditions required in the Read Me document.

Thanks for the info. No ideas what the problem is?

Found the problem. It appears the driver on the Roldand site is the wrong driver for my old unit. I dug out the driver I originally used and installed it. Now Cubase sees the Octa-Capture.
