Roll Tie

I can’t figure out why I can’t tie the eighth note roll to the quarter note roll on ms. 18 and 20 in the Perc. 1 part. Highlighting the 8th note and hitting “T” has no effect.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thank you.

Oops. Sorry. It’s too early in the morning for my brain to function at 100%.

If it’s not because of different voices, then possibly it’s the different tremolos?

Well, they are in the same voice. Common practice dictates that rolls shorter the quarter notes use two slashes and quarter notes and longer call for three slashes.
What to do?

Is this the culprit? If you remove the slashes from both notes, will they then tie together correctly?

No, that can’t be it. It works here:

Maybe I should send a Dorico File??

This issue appears in measures 18, 20 and 22 in Percussion 1.
Thanks. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Tie in Snare Drum.dorico (2.1 MB)

It might have something to do with lock duration being applied to all the notes…

Honestly, I have no idea. Played around with the file quite a bit, but the only way I can make these notes join up is by removing and re-entering them…

Is this a vanilla Dorico file or is it an XML import?

Estigy,
I tried that just now by emptying the whole measure then inputting the notes. But when I try to tie them even before entering the slashed, when I try to tie the 8th note to the first quarter note the quarter turns into a half note. I am stumped.

This was an XML import but, again, I have tried emptying the measures entirely and starting them from scratch.

Well, don’t ask me how I did it but in the process of experimenting with various methods of inputting the notes, it suddenly worked. Go figure.
Thanks for all the advice.
