Roomworks predelay issue C10.5 pro and 11 pro

Hi all, I’ve come across an issue I cannot fathom for the life of me. Using roomworks to make a slap back echo on a clap I’m generating from Groove Agent.

Get it to sound right but as soon as I set my predelay above 150ms (ideally I want 226ms), the reverb effect is only heard every second clap, I can see it going through the meter in roomworks every time but I can’t hear it.

Happens on both Cubase 10.5 and 11, REVerence, REVelation, Roomworks SE and Raum are unaffected by this. Am I missing something or is this a known issue?

I haven’t tried roomworks for slapback but why not just use a delay?

I would have but:
A. I’m pushing it with the plugins and not quite ready to resampling stuff
B. I like Roomworks sound and want to use it
C. If there’s a bug there, I’d like to see it squashed
