Routing from VST to Audio track not working in Artist 11

Hi All,
Input routing from VSt, FX or Groupe channel to an audio track is not working.
This feature is mentioned in the operation manual of artist 11
Any solutions?
Regards,

Hi,

This feature used to be Cubase Pro only. I’m not aware of the change here. So it looks like a bug in manual. Could you please send a link to the Cubase Artist manual, where this is mentioned?

Hi,
Page 241 “Recording a Mix of Separate Tracks”
"You can create a downmix of separate tracks, bass drum, hi-hats, or snare, for example. This is
done by selecting an output bus, a group bus, or an FX channel bus as an input for your
recording.
PROCEDURE

  1. Set up your separate tracks and add a group track.
  2. For each of the drum tracks, open the Output Routing pop-up menu and select the group
    track as output.
  3. Create a new audio track, open the Input Routing pop-up menu and select the group track
as input for this audio track.
  4. Record-enable this audio track and start recording.
    RESULT
The output of the group track will be recorded on the new track and you will get a mix of your
    separate tracks.
    NOTE
You can also select an FX channel as recording source. In this case, only the output of the FX
    channel will be recorded"

Upgraded my license because of this and Variaudio
Thank You,

Note

You can also select an FX channel as recording source. In this case, only the output of the FX channel will be recorded.

Hi,

It’s written here.

This is not working for me, am not able to find the group track as input to audio track

Go,

Isn’t the output of the Audio Track, or the Send routed to the Group Channel?

Yes, i can rout all the drum tracks to group channel, however, to record the out of group channel is not working.
When i create a new audio and in the input bus popup up, cant find group channel out.

  1. (Working) Set up your separate tracks and add a group track.
  2. (Working) For each of the drum tracks, open the Output Routing pop-up menu and select the group track as output.
  3. (NOT Working) Create a new audio track, open the Input Routing pop-up menu and select the group track as input for this audio track.

Hi,

As I asked, isn’t the Audio track, you want to record to, routed to the Group via output or Send by any chance?

yes, record group track in audio track. output and send not working

Hi,

What is the output of the new Audio track, where do you want to record to, please?

Thank you Martin for your time and effort, trying to helping me out.
wanted to route group track output to input of new audio track and record it.

Message from Steinberg support team.

"Hello,

This is a pro only feature, The output of the group track cannot be assigned to the input of an audio track. I tested this on my end and cannot select a group track as the input. I followed up with a senior staff member to confirm and they indicated it was Pro only. I believe this is an error in the documentation of the Artist Manual."
