I tried that yesterday and it didn’t work. That’s when I posted here I was dense

The cd change directory is to point the command prompt to where the procdump.exe resides so that the following command that you insert will execute properly. I’m not sure why it’s not working for you.
It gave the same error message as th eone I posted today. I’ll not carry on messing with the command promt just in case 
But the others with the initial issues will probably get it working.

What version of Cubase are you using ? because it’s important to have the correct .exe file name in the command line.
Yes, this is pretty much correct. In the past users have used the regular ‘procdump’ rather than ‘procdump64’ and it’s been OK (I suspect it will run the 64-bit version anyway if you’re on a 64-bit system. procdump64a is probably the ARM version)
It will generate the dump files in the directory that is run in, so downloading it and moving to a separate directory is a good idea.
I’d suggesting trying these procdump parameters first:
procdump64 -mp -w Cubase14.exe -n 20
- This will create a ‘miniplus’ dump with a bit more information in it. It will wait (-w) for the Cubase process to start if it isn’t running, and it will create up to 20 dump files (these can be triggered at various points, eg if there are internal exceptions – some of these are expected)

Ok, I figured it out.
You need to do the Windows Command Prompt command lines first before opening Cubase.
It will say “Waiting for Cubase14.exe…”
Open Cubase 14 and then it will start monitoring correctly.

one thing I forgot to add: if you attach dump files created from procdump, then please also include the output log from procdump itself as that gives a bit more context to what’s in the dump file (especially in the case that multiple files are created)
Does this just mean to copy and paste the information from the Windows Command Prompt ? or does procdump create a separate log file ?

Alright all?
So, after spending the week downloading and completing a clean install of the sound content (approx 600GB), I’ve finally found the cause and solution to the “Cubase has become unstable” message.
The cause of the message “Cubase has become unstable” is as follow.
- Incorrect Folder Structure
- Incorrect Streaming - Pre-load Buffer Setting (SampleTank 4 Max v2 Settings)
The solution is as follows.
- Set the installation path in each plugin, Philharmonik2, SampleTank4, SampleTron2 and Syntronik2, prior to starting the install/clean install of the sound content.
- Sign into your IK Multimedia account, via the IK Multimedia Product Manager, and locate the “Sounds” tab.
- Complete the install/clean install of the sound content listed, using IK Multimedia’s “Product Manager” ONLY, but making sure only one file is installed at a time.* *Using the “Install All” option can potentially cause Internet connection drop outs, which can causes installation issues.
- Once the install/clean install has completed, look for the “Settings” menu in each plugin (small cog wheel in the top right corner), here you’ll find a “Streaming” tab.
- Once in the “Streaming” section, you’ll need to select the relevant “Pre-load Buffer” option that matches your hard drive.
Now, you’re good to go!!!
Please note, IK multimedia’s Product Manager will install all the relevant sound content into the correct files.
Please also note, installing the “SampleTank 4”, “SampleTank 4 SE” and “Syntronik 2 CS” sound contents MUST NOT be installed, when installing the “SampleTank 4 Max v2” sound content, as this can potentially cause a duplication of content…everything else can be.
I hope this helps anyone having this issue, and I’d like to thank everyone that’s replied…it really is appreciated.

It is really important that the maker of the plugin standard ensure that such things any dev attempts to do are illegal and sandboxed appropriately so they cannot render the host program “unstable”.
We simply do not have the cycles to chase down these developers, some of whom frankly have no idea what they’re doing and can’t be arsed to provide support in anything resembling a timely manner.
Steinberg cannot allow such devs to continue to destabilize the host program by making dumb things they should never be doing “legal”.
This whole situation is not OK and is the same spiritual reason for the existence of Java as response to C++’s more loosey goosey approach to safety.
We’ve been here before in the computing world. Steinberg needs to own this as part of the VST standard or it is inevitable that it will be viewed as inferior to solutions that do not allow such things and do sandbox third-party plugins properly, perhaps AAX or CLAP.
Continue to point the finger at third parties and see what happens: it’s only a matter of time.

Hi all, I have also the Cubase has become unstable issue when I open the Spectrallayers ARA Interface inside Cubase. Since March this year the issue is with Steinberg support. I have sent all information and dumps to the support, but no feedback so far. How can we expect to get a solution if the y can’t do it for their very own stuff. I’m really really disappointed.
