When I audition a sample from media file browser it plays at the same tempo has project song but when I drop it into the project it plays back really fast and nothing like the original. Very new to Cubase so any reply’s would be very welcome.

Enable the Musical Mode on the Audio Event in the Info Line of the Project window or int he Pool window.
