Sampler Control Sample Management

In the Sampler Control, the box that handls the file:

Open Sample

You have two button objects that do exactly the same thing. Clicking the text or the folder icon both invokes a file-open dialogue box.

Instead there should be a drop down menu on the right side of the text, where we can choose a sample from the current folder that the sample exists in (swap or append to current). There would be a list of samples that are in the folder, or we could use up/down arrow keys, like presets. Why do this? To keep the settings we have done intact, just replacing the audio itself. Lots of samples in their parent folders are similar to each other.

For the folder icon, right click should “find in media bay”. If we went somewhere else in the browser pane and have lost where the sample came from. The right click would jump the browser to where the sample path is.

Or you could get rid of the folder icon at the right side of the toolbar, that “opens browser”. That’s a redundant button. Just do a “find in browser” to this folder button instead.

Also I support the option to drag samples onto the project window and it would auto-create a sampler track. For the reason of us being able to determine *where the sample goes in the song when adding it. It would create a MIDI edit event at that spot. Instead of the extra steps of having to “open new sample track”, and then having to create the MIDI event on the project. Too many steps.
