sampler sampler sampler?

Took a bunch of samples from various VSTi…
The samples are in the Pool…

Imported some loops, split them up, they are also in the pool.
I’ve been using Cubase for (i’m old) 15 years.

I think it’s probably a good time to introduce the ability to
drag audio from the Pool into a VST.
Especially a loop that is split up, so it can be played, etc.
It is kind of limiting to the process of writing certain kinds of music.
I mean, what do you do with all your samples once they are split up and in the pool?

Enter Halion 4

Or short circuit! Its free and supports drag n drop from the arrangement page.

short circuit is windows only, and i’m on mac.

Does Halion do drag-and-drop from within the song?

Halion does drag and drop from the pool, project page, mediabay, windows explorer, Mac finder etc, you can practically drag and drop from anywhere into Halion 4 and have it automatically create a slot for the program.

You may want to watch this video:

(Steinberg - Halion 4: Experience Perfect Synergy)

It’s on the Halion 4 product page as well.

oh you deserve a hug.
watched the vid.
blown away by this actually.
all these years using cubase and i had no idea
halion did this.

downloaded the Halion demo.

But I am screwed because I have mac OSX 10.5.9
Halion only runs with 10.6 or higher.

I hate my f*ing life.

Don’t hate your life…hate Macs :smiling_imp:

Can’t you drag and drop with the Halion bundled w/Cubase?

Halion Sonic SE is not a sampler. Can’t add audio to it.
It’s more of a ROMpler. (I’ve hear it called)

Check out UVI Workstation…no need to hate your life…you just saved £215

Drag to a pad in GA? Too crude?

Checking out UVI workstation.

What is GA ?

Groove Agent

ohh GA = Groove Agent.

Works. Am really looking for a Sampler that does this so I can play the samples.
Halion looks like the best bet.
(i do wish kontakt did this).
