I’m trying to import and drop a kick sample into the timeline of a project in Cubase 11 Pro, but the kick seems to be higher in pitch/tempo-adjusted somehow whenever I do so, and I’d rather it not, and just give me the unadulterated file when played back. I can’t seem to find a way to adjust this behavior, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Please, make sure the audio sample’s sample rate matches the project’s sample rate. If not, resample the Audio file, please.
Also use a Sample track rather than dragging into an Audio track
A sample track can manipulate your sample.
