Quick question for the more experienced sampling people.
When sampling notes from an external synth, what is the best method:
-Sampling all keyboard notes?
-Note duration for best results?

I think it really depends on the nature of what sound you’re going to sample.
Most vintage MIDI instruments I’ve used have very limited variation in timbre so I’m usually happy with sampling octaves, and letting HALion do the pitching. If I was going to sample an ancient acoustic instrument I’d probably go for all notes – better have too much than too little, economise later!
Duration I usually let be a good bit longer than the longest sustained note expected, and then if necessary batch-trim them in WaveLab.
