Currently there is no way save modulators with assignments and modulation amount with FX or synth presets for future use. It’s especially frustrating when I want to reuse an FX with modulators on another track in the same project. I find it very of putting.
It should be implemented ASAP - as in one of the next C14 updates.
I have successfully saved tracks with modulators as track presets before, but that doesn’t allow me to use the modulated FX on a already up and running track with effects and automation etc. and I cannot use the modulated effects saved with track preset for audio track with an instrument track.
Track archives are not the same as track presets. You can save combinations of tracks as a track archive eg a vsti with all associated midi tracks including midi effects, the vsti track itself including effects, all instrument output tracks with effects, any associated audio tracks with effects etc. You can also include any events and automation on these tracks together with any associated sends within the track group selected. I usually include these tracks in a folder which can be imported into any project via a key command.
I’m not exactly sure of what you want to achieve but if you haven’t explored using track archives it’s probably worth a look.
ok it seems the Modulators are bound to the Track instance.
You can save a Track Preset with the modulators, but even here the implementation seems to have bugs. When you load a new track instance with the track preset the modulator is assigned to the wrong parameter in some cases.
I think it would be awesome to separate “FX Modulators” from "Track Modulators" to allow saving the modulators within plugin presets and FX chain presets. The current way really limits the workflow and use of the modulators by a lot!
I’m bringing the topic up again.
You can’t save presets without losing the assignment and settings.
Track presets and the like are not a solution, because they cause all plugins and automations on the track to be lost
Today i was digging a bit more before upgrading to CB14 and i made this question to google that led me to this post…unfortunately this is a huge mistake from the devs, hope this gets fixed in a near update. The modulations should get saved and properly assigned to the parameters when making track presets!
Just for this special case: You can copy modulators from one channel to another much like insert plugins.
Here I use the MixConsole:
However, the connections will not be copied. They will have to be re-done. Maybe this info is still helpful to some, though…
