I’ve always seen the little drop down in the Name section of the Save Audio Montage dialog box that allows for the use of Auto and Custom Variable Values, but have never been able to make it work for me. Can’t figure out what I’m missing.
I keep my folder structure as: “Artist/Project” and I’d love to make a preset that can grab that information and use it for the file name field in the Save Audio Montage dialog. Is there a way to do this? I tried; “@SrceEnclosingFolder3@-@SrceEnclosingFolder2@”, but it just saves the file as, @SrceEnclosingFolder3@-@SrceEnclosingFolder2@.mon rather than using the folder names.
In the “Save As” dialog, you can select variable values, but you don’t save presets there.
If you want to use the true power of variable, consider the Naming Scheme feature. But this is for rendering, not for “save as”.
Yes, I use variables for rendering and love it! So is there anyway to accomplish what I’m looking for…having Wavelab pull the parent folder names to fill in the save a new montage dialog? I do this so many times over the course of a week and I’d love automate it somehow.
Sorry, not possible. The closest you can do is select the parent folder name from the variable menu or the grand-parent folder, but in all cases, you must do this manually.
Understood. This would be a useful feature for a future version if possible. I like to put the sample rate at the end of my montages too, I’d love to be able to automate that as well. Basically, if we could bring some of the power in the render naming to the save as box, that would be great. Thanks!
